Michael B. Jordan just got the last laugh, and he’s not being subtle about it.
The actor made history Sunday night by winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his dual role in “Sinners,” becoming only the sixth Black actor to ever achieve the feat. And if rumors swirling around Hollywood are true, the victory tastes even sweeter given who wasn’t in the audience .
Word on the street is that before Jordan and Lori Harvey called it quits in 2022, she allegedly told him to his face that he’d never win an Oscar. Fast forward to 2026, and he’s holding the gold statue while she’s reportedly ‘pressed’ watching from home .
Sources from Harvey’s camp have told blogs that neither she, her current boyfriend Damson Idris, nor any of her family members attended the Oscars this year because they knew there was a strong possibility of Jordan winning. They apparently had no interest in being in the room when it happened .
Jordan, meanwhile, showed up with the only date that mattered—his mother, Donna Jordan—and delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech honoring the legends who came before him.
‘I stand here because of the people who came before me: Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith,’ Jordan said from the stage. ‘To be among those giants, among those greats, among my ancestors, among my guys. Thank you everybody in this room and everybody at home for supporting me over my career. I feel it’ .
Social media immediately erupted, and fans didn’t hold back when it came to Harvey.
They straight up called Damson Idris a downgrade, claiming he’ll never get anywhere close to the level Jordan is on. Some even suggested Harvey’s ‘bad energy’ was holding Jordan back, pointing out that since they split, he’s been on a generational run—directing blockbusters and now winning an Oscar .
‘Sometimes the glow up really does start with a breakup,’ one fan posted.
The pettiness runs deep, and it’s not without context. When Jordan and Harvey split in 2022 after about 18 months together, sources claimed they were at different life stages—he was ready to settle down while she, at 25, wanted to focus on her career .
But things got ugly fast.

Rumors swirled that Jordan had cheated with his ex-girlfriend Ashlin Castro. These rumors were started by Lisa Ray, who also happens to be the best friend of Harvey’s mother, Marjorie. Neither Lori nor Marjorie came out to deny the allegations, allowing the narrative to spread .
Lisa Ray even went on camera claiming the rumors about Harvey not being ready for marriage were ‘all BS’ and that Harvey had actually found out about Jordan allegedly messing with his ex just days before he planned to propose.
Then Steve Harvey and Marjorie got in on the action, throwing major shade at Jordan on Instagram.
Steve posted ‘Love yourself, my G,’ followed by ‘Sometimes we need to thank God for what didn’t happen.’ In an interview shortly after, he alluded to Lori and Jordan’s relationship as a ‘mistake’ she got to make in the public eye .
Marjorie reposted a video of actress Jennifer Lewis saying, ‘If you sit in it for too long, it stops smelling, so come on out of there.’ Lori herself posted a photo of a license plate that read ‘Dump him’ .
Jason Lee even claimed that when he ran into Harvey at the Essence Festival after the split and asked her point-blank if Jordan cheated, she just stared at him in disbelief, seemingly confirming the gossip without saying a word.
But Jordan never clapped back. He stayed silent and got back to work .
‘After the breakup, everyone thought I was so heartbroken because when the news came out, I was at a basketball game and they caught me looking like this,’ Jordan joked recently, referencing the memes. ‘Most people after a breakup are like, I’m going to get in better shape, but I was already in Creed shape. So I had to be like, all right, I guess I’ll learn a new language.’
Now the narrative has completely flipped.
Rumors are flying that Harvey might be rethinking her choices. An IG page named News Flip Live even claimed sources revealed Harvey reached out to Jordan after his win but he ignored her texts—though there’s no official confirmation of this .
Meanwhile, Harvey and Idris have been working overtime to prove their relationship is solid, getting caught in a passionate make-out session on a balcony in Paris during Fashion Week just days before the Oscars . Fans immediately called it ‘staged’ and ‘cringe’ .
‘Not them playing PR games,’ one fan posted on X .
‘No way y’all buying this. I’ve never seen anything more staged lmfao,’ another wrote .
The timing was certainly interesting, coming right as Oscar buzz for Jordan reached its peak.
Harvey and Idris originally split in November 2023 after about a year of dating, releasing a joint statement saying they were ‘at a point in our lives where our individual paths require our full attention and dedication’ . But they’ve been spotted together multiple times since late 2025, suggesting an on-again, off-again dynamic .

Jordan, meanwhile, has reportedly been happily single and focused on work. Sources say he has ‘difficulty dating’ because finding someone who shares his lifestyle and goals isn’t easy right now .
‘He doesn’t want to be single forever, but he’s choosing it because that’s what life is presenting him right now. It’s likely he’ll stay single for a good while,’ a source told reporters .
After his win, Jordan celebrated in the most low-key way possible—hitting up In-N-Out Burger in Hollywood with his Oscar in hand . Patrons pulled out their phones to capture the moment, applauding the newly minted Academy Award winner at the beloved burger chain .
‘Nothing beats a heavy greasy burger after your stomach has been in knots all night from being nervous,’ one fan commented approvingly .
The humility of it all only made fans love him more.
As for whether Harvey will actually leave Idris and try to rekindle things with Jordan now that he’s an Oscar winner, social media has plenty of opinions. But those close to Jordan suggest he’s moved on and isn’t looking back .
The irony isn’t lost on anyone watching this drama unfold.
While Harvey’s camp once pushed narratives designed to damage Jordan’s reputation, he’s now standing on stage with an Oscar, being compared to Denzel Washington and Sidney Poitier .
And Damson Idris? Still waiting on that first nomination.
Michael B. Jordan didn’t need to say a word. The statue says it all.
